KVS Interior Design to sponsor Montessori Academy of Naples’ Art Auction |
Montessori Academy of Naples’ 4th Annual Off-the-Wall Art Auction will be held on February 9th, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:30P.M. This year marks a first for the not-for-profit Montessori school as the event will be sponsored by KVS Interior Design and will be held at the firm’s Sultan Gallery in Bonita Springs. Available pieces at the auction will come from both the gallery and the school’s collection of donated art. There will also be children’s art exhibited at the event though these precious items will not be for sale. The children’s artwork will also be on exhibit at Montessori Academy of Naples on Saturday, February 11th from 10:00A.M. to 2:00P.M.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Kelli Sultan, owner of KVS Interior Design, has graciously pledged to donate 100% of The Sultan Gallery sales from February 9th as well as a percentage of the gallery’s sales for the month of February to Montessori Academy of Naples. All funds raised through the event and from the donation of gallery sales will benefit Montessori Academy of Naples’ programs and its growing campus. While funds raised certainly help the school on its mission of providing comprehensive infant through elementary Montessori programs to the families of Southwest Florida, the event also serves to raise awareness and understanding of Montessori as a time-proven educational philosophy.
Both the Thursday evening Off–the-Wall Art Auction and the Children’s Art Exhibit are open to the public. The Sultan Gallery is located at 3820 Via Del Rey in Bonita Springs. Montessori Academy of Naples is accepting applications for all programs from infant through elementary. Information and application forms can be obtained through this website or you may contact the school at 239-597-2255. If you would like to plan a visit, an open house is scheduled each month or you may call the school to schedule a personal tour. Thank you for your interest in Montessori Academy of Naples. The Infant Program is headed by its AMI (Association Montessori International) trained directress who has over ten years Montessori classroom experience and serves as the schools Infant/ Toddler Coordinator. The Toddler Program environment is guided by the schools Infant/Toddler Coordinator and is staffed by Montessori experienced veterans with a combined total of more than 35 years in Montessori preschool environments. The dual Primary Classrooms are each directed by a seasoned (a combined total of almost 40 years classroom experience) Montessori trained teacher and incorporate both VPK and Kindergarten programs into their multi-aged environments. The Elementary Classroom teacher holds her Florida teaching certification, a Master’s degree in Education and has 13 years of Montessori elementary classroom experience. All staff are required to have or obtain their Florida CDA or equivalent, participate in continuing education opportunities and maintain all State certification requirements and current First Aid and CPR training. Montessori Academy of Naples is once again offering its produce co-op for the 2010-2011 school year. Participation in the co-op is an easy and cost effective way to bring fresh fruits and vegetables into the school each week and into the homes of participating families. This year, MAN is working with Green Village Organics. Green Village has locally been running a successful organic produce co-op for four years and founder Beth Housewert has agreed to share her expertise with the school. MAN’s own Stephanie Janisch will help coordinate these efforts. This association has already allowed the co-op options to increase. This year you can choose: the bag size you wish to purchase, either a $15 or a $25 dollar bag; and also, the option to purchase organic eggs delivered straight from the farm for only $3.50 per dozen! Green village also does local, all-natural, grass-fed beef sales monthly. This type of program is not only beneficial to our families, the school and, whenever feasible, local farms* but it is, most importantly, an educational tool and lesson for our children. Every Thursday is a new opportunity to integrate conversation and ideas about healthy food selections, and foster practical skills like sorting produce, filling and distributing orders!
