2010 Summer Program

Montessori Academy of Naples Summer Programs 2010

From Sea to Shining Sea

Summer Reservation Form

Come join the summer fun at Montessori Academy of Naples as we celebrate the unique history and cultures present in our very own United States.  From the Northeast to the Southwest, the Great Lakes to the Great Plains, the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Rockies, each week we will highlight a different region of our 50 states and explore the beautiful diversity we call our home.  The elementary program will set the tone for our exploration of eight diverse regions of the country including Alaska and Hawaii.  Each program will enjoy age-appropriate activities that reinforce the weekly theme.  Activities may include stories, music, cooking, and arts and crafts and will be set in a prepared Montessori environment.  All programs incorporate an outside time each day, weather permitting.  For more information or to register online, click below.  You may also contact the school at 239-597-2255.

Elementary Summer Program for students from 6 to 12 years old
The elementary program will set the tone for our exploration of eight diverse regions of the country including Alaska and Hawaii.  The program is designed to offer the students many opportunities to enhance and apply both social and academic knowledge and skills through research and discovery, projects, music, cooking, and arts and crafts activities.
  • Opportunities to work within the core disciplines will be integrated into fascinating and fun enrichment activities.
  • Leadership and responsibility will be fostered as discoveries are shared with the younger students.
  • Outings into the local community may be scheduled to facilitate exploration of weekly themes. (Transportation for these field trips will be arranged with advance notice, parent permission, and proper insurance.  Parent volunteers may also be asked to participate to ensure everyone's safety with an appropriate adult-to-child ratio for going out.)

Children’s House Summer Programs for children from 3 to 5 years old

The students in the Children’s House Programs, which includes Primary and VPK, will enjoy activities that support the weekly regional themes as well as be exposed to the discoveries of the elementary students.

Primary

  • Explores history and geography, through fun individual and group enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, music, stories, food, etc…
  • Provides consistency of the Montessori environment throughout the summer while interjecting “summertime” fun!
  • Encourages continued academic, social, and personal growth through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that build skills and confidence.

VPK for students eligible to enter kindergarten in August 2010 and hold a VPK certificate from the State of Florida.

The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program will use the weekly themes to enhance and extend the learning of basic skills as outlined by the standards set by the Early Learning Coalition (ELC).  This program is free of charge* for children who are eligible to enter Kindergarten in the Fall of 2010 and hold a VPK certificate from the State.  The VPK curriculum is integrated into the primary environment and emphasizes skill building in all academic areas. *VPK students are state-funded for and required to attend the full-day 8:00A.M. to 3:00P.M. session, from June 1st through July 23rd.

  • Academic growth will be supported through both individual and group activities that develop foundational skills in language, mathematics, science, geography, history, art, and music.
  • Personal and social growth is fostered through activities that encourage independence and emphasize care of self, others, and the environment.
  • VPK milestones are documented by staff.
